When taking a picture, try and make sure you there is a lot of natural light so that the sensor is able to gather more light and make the picture sharper. If it's a dull day and there is limited light, the sensor can't draw in enough light to make the picture sharp and it turns out blurred. If it's quite dark, set the shutter speed to say 5 or 10 seconds and that will draw in enough light to make the picture sharp, although don't try it on a light day because the picture will turn too bright. If it helps, also try setting the camera on a tripod or something so that it remains steady.
