Anyone know what a motif is? I have to make up an English test tommorrow and I can't find my notes on it. (We just read Macbeth) If anyones knows what it is or how it relates to Macbeth please let me know~ Help is greatly appreciated.

well i know in music a motif is an "idea". Like a melody consisting of certain notes that is reoccurring.

so i would assume the same for literature. a reoccurring idea.

I'm honestly not worried about passing English. I'm in advanced English and have a 100 in it and I'm trying to keep that 100 after being out for two weeks. I ended up finding it in my notes at school the next morning anyways. Thanks for everyone's help though!

No my overall average was a 99.43, as in all of my subjects added together and divided by the number of subjects.. I never said what my English average was ... but I don't want to hear any more people tell me I'm a liar when I'm not, so i took it out. Ehh whatever i don't care anymore.
