having the deadline/exam on the following day. sometimes not even that tho. normally end up having to lock myself in a room with absolute silence and a huge pile of books i need to get through cuz then it's like a challenge and i have no distractions.

I'm pretty good at concentrating, so normally I just have to tell myself to focus on what I'm doing.
Good luck with your mocks though, Becky!

Taking all resources away..when I couldnt sleep I said it was me..But my mum took the laptop and I was fine. Sometimes you need to cut out from everything.

It's difficult trying to concentrate on something when I'm not in the mood too, it's even worse when I know it has to be done very very soon.
When doing coursework I have to put on the ipod and block everything else out.
Don't suppose this will be helpful during your mocks, but just try finding your own way of blocking everything else out. It'll be a quiet area so it shouldn't be too difficult cos everyone else will be in the same boat as you.

Whoooa. I know this is not what this topic is about, but I just noticed your age in that post and I had no idea you were that young. The same age as me. I've always thought you were like 17, never bothering to look. :/

Tune it all out? Learn to do transcendental meditation?
It's really annoying when someone's next to you and they're sniffing away...
Aparently examiners take into account, as a valid excuse, if your pet's died on the morning of an exam. I mean wow your pet worm's died. +20% of the marks. I mean yeah it's upsetting, but what if you something much worse happened, like er maybe a PERSON died... i mean come on.

Take away al distractions like computers, tv, music etc, and it should be easier to concentrate.

I have to lock myself away in a room without any distractions e.g. TVs, computers, magazines, CD players etc etc. In summer I usually go out into the garden, tan & revise at once can only be a win win situation.

it's only like 1% and they give you more than that if a person close to you dies. Wtf are you even on about?

It doesn't help me in exams. It loses the flavour and I can only think about getting rid of it, so I swallow it and it gets stuck in my throat, and then that's all that I can think about. Not good. x(
