The Tempest (Shakespeare)
Contrast between Caliban and Ariel includes
- the way they are addressed
- the way they address Prospero
- their abilities (Ariel's magicalness and Caliban's knowledge of the island)
- their form (spirit and monster)
anyone know anymore?

Nah no one really knows it. It's very short and not very good. Plus it's not one of his more realistic plays so people often trail off when reading it.

Yeah it's not one I've read either. I did a bit of googling though, and it seems you've covered a lot of ground there. If you expand a lot on how they are addressed and treated by other people and perhaps link it to other points, such as their powers/abilities etc then I think you will have quite a lot to write about.
Whatever the case - GOOD LUCK

Lack of taste. I sense it. You do realise it is probably one of the greatest creations the Bard ever penned, and is accepted by most authorities as such?

Did you see a particularly bad performance? I hate that, when one can become prejudiced because of one crappy production. You should really go and see it performed by a good company, it is truly excellent.

I was typing my notes up for the tempest; we're doing it in English, and this is what I got for ariel and caliban--
Caliban--
- On the island
- An evil, ugly, bad tempered, stupid monster.
- Sycorax’s son
- Plots to kill Prospero
- Believes that Prospero has unfairly claimed the island and that it's really his
- Not liked
- Gets drunk often with T and S
- No magical powers
- Likes Stephano, when drunks treats him like a god
- Doesn’t like Trinculo
- He recognizes that he is stupid.
Ariel--
- On the island
- Flying spirit
- Imprisoned by Sycorax [a beautiful, evil witch] in a tree for 12 years; rescued by Prospero
- Prospero’s servant until he has fulfilled Prospero’s wishes.
- He has magic powers, such as the ability to fly or become invisible.
- Plays tabor and pipe to entice people to follow him.
- Male/ female
- Accuses Alonso of his crimes; confronts him about what he’s done.
- Accuses Sebastian and Antonio of their crimes.
- According to Prospero's wishes, he causes the storm to overthrow the boat.
Hope it helps a bit.

Not very good! Wtf! I haven't seen it performed, and I really like it! I like the way in which it;s written, and the characters, and all the different storylines. And it's very well known, too.
Oh yh, Caliban speaks in prose because he's uneducated, and Ariel speaks in poetry because he is. I think.
