Well most people who go to university end up with more than ten thousand pound in debt, so I think paying a one off payment of that amount is quite a good investment.

I like that advert, I C S you can.

And personally I've never looked into a home learning course, I thought I was probably too young..And some of the courses I could do at college for free, so my life's not really at a stage for me to need one..

There is no point in considering it if you are not willing to pay the cost of the course.

I have thought of it but I think I'd lack the motivation which obviously you really need for something like that. Also, I've read you saying you don't have any real friends and if you were at college I'm sure that would soon change, maybe it's worth another shot?

my ex fella was doing a computer course with ermm *thinks* skillstrain, yeah. like ics etc and his parents paid £3000 for it. however, it's VERY difficult to do alone, you don't get the kind of support and motivation you receive from college tutors/school teachers etc. he ended up giving in - they still send him the stuff every month but it's wasted coz he doesn't even look at it.

i know it's not something i could do, coz i really lack motivation but it's a really good opportunity if you're willing to put the work in. however, don't be scared of paying a fair amount of money for a good one - you're not gonna get far in life on a £535 course...go for a really good course, or build yourself up to a higher one by doing a few lower/cheaper ones first to get you to the right level.

you can pay monthly with a lot of the companies so that would be easier for you i'm guessing? like asda said, uni costs some £10,000 so don't expect your education to come cheap. what better thing to invest in than your future though?

I think you really need to work on your social skills.

From what you've said, you're obviously uncomfortable being around new people, but it's not going to get any easier unless you throw yourself in at the deep end. I understand that you can feel awkward when you're on your own, gangling about, whilst everyone else has got a load of people around them, but if you don't make an effort it's going to start inhibiting you soon.

Maybe you could do something to ease yourself into people-situations gently: a night class perhaps? I don't mean for this to sound horrible and offensive, because you do seem like a genuinely lovely person - it's just a shame to see such a lack of self-esteem holding you back. Whatever you decide to do though, I hope it works out for you, and perhaps also helps you to gain a bit of confidence!

From what I can see, they're much smarter than you. They're actually doing something to better their lives rather than yourself who is stuck sitting at home mocking them with very poor grammar.

Sure, you may be uncomfortable speaking to people, but sitting at home is not going to help it. Getting off your arse and going to college will improve your social skills tenfold.

Then again I don't know you and I don't care, so I don't really give a shit what you do.

Your most probably gonna have to start a job which involves working/going out at some point in your life, so it's probably best to start getting used to things now.

How about trying an eveing course for, say, one day a week.
If you go in thinking it's gonna be shite, it will be, and you'll be your own worse enemy - admitting that won't change anything.
