Default Validity of a French Degree

I'm a francophone, and the degree I'm currently working on is also francophone. Question is, how valid would my francophone degree be in an English speaking country?

The degree is a bachelour's and would have the same amount of training, experience and education as any English degree would, and I'm in Canada so its not going to be second-rate. My mentor is pretty much useless in this regard, he doesn't know anything. I was hoping to move to New Zealand, but I'd hate to have to redo my university or some other program. So if anyone knows anything, please feel free.

Aren't a lot of graduate degrees mostly about the skills you learn, rather than the content of them?

You'd think so, and its more than possible that is what they go on, but it never hurts to just be certain about it. I know several people who have tried to make their francophone degree valid and usable in the United States but it never worked out, they had to do specialised courses and etc.

Evig, I'm anglophone and I plan on getting a french degree. If you have a french degree you should be find in finding a job, depending on what kind of job you want. I am hoping to become a French/History teacher so a french degree is an asset.

We can't really tell you if you'll need extra courses because we don't know what you want to do.

Ps./ I live in canada too

Good point.. I'm studying journalism, so I've been wondering if an anglo newspaper would hire or even give credibility to someone with an french degree. I have an idea already but none of these things are very clear.

Its possible. Is it a degree in journalism, just the french variety? If thats the case it shouldn't be a problem. Course content is the same - relatively.
