Juno
I am now in love with this film.
Seriously, it's the best thing I've watched in ages. The script had me laaaaaughing my head off at times, and I love Juno. She's wicked.
Even if you're not thinking about watching it, you still should.
It's got everything.

Saw it before it came out and yes it's a brilliant film. Well, I thought it was anyway. Loved it.

Yes it's so so awesome. I love it. Ellen Page is going to be somebody I love for a long time to come if this and Hard Candy is anything to go by.
Can't really fault it to be honest. Best film of the year so far.

Nooo it was great. Such an intense film.
Ellen's performance was particularly amazing.

no it was balls!! and balls were the only good thing about it
i can hardly remember the film so it musta been shite but i thought it'd go a bit deeper and deal with the whole 'paedophile' thing but nooo completely one dimensional, ellen is a great actress but i didnt like the film

I'm not sure how they could've gone much deeper into him being a paedophile, honestly. It's been a year or more since I watched it so I can't remember every single detail but a lot of the film was somewhat ambiguous as to whether or not he was. For a while you thought maybe, just maybe, he wasn't really a 'predator' and just some lonely guy who genuinely got on with this girl. Of course, your common sense told you this was bollocks, but everybody considered it at least once. His character was a very convincing liar. It was about half an hour into the movie, if not a bit longer, that he really started to show his true colours and became quite a nasty piece of work.
Overall I just loved the whole 'hunter becomes the hunted' theme of the film and how it played out. It was a very clever concept and was executed really well. From what I remember of the dialogue it was very sharp and blunt in places and the character development that both the paedophile and Ellen's character go through in about 90 minutes is rather amazing. The ex-girlfriend bit was a bit iffy in places but I like the fact you got to see an insight into his fucked up head like that and that she used it so well against him. If it wasn't for the fact she faked cutting off his balls it would be her finest moment.

Hard Candy was a load of old rubbish. I couldn't face watching it again.
However, Juno I want to see over and over. There's probably loads of little details that I missed out on first time around. Loveit.

I really want you to both watch it again because it's clearly an immense film.

I don't think that was really the point of it at all; hunter being hunted or whatevs. I think it was meant more to confuse you and conflict with the preset notion of who was good, who was evil, who was justified, who wasn't. I think you're meant to come out of it decided that no side | |
