aids
k you know it was world aids day the other day.. friday or saturday i think, well at the pub i go to there's these three blokes who are there every other day pretty much they call themselves the witches of eastwick lmao and i love them to bits they're rly fantastic. they were doing like fundraising at the pub for this aids day, giving out condoms and stuff (which i had to politely decline lol fking awkward) and it turns out my favourite one of them, tony, actually has aids. or is HIV borderline AIDS or something idk i dont understand it tbh but he caught it from his ex bf. well i'm like really gutted. i've never known anyone with that and it's just like blah. he's such a lovely lovely person. he's like the happiest bloke you'll ever meet, absolute life and soul of the place of a thursday night and he's so so funny he always come over to cheer me up if i look even a tad fucked off with life. it's really surprised me and i'm like thinking.. shit. what if he's just not at the bar one night dancing to culture club. i mean i've only known him 10 weeks but omg. aids always kills you eventually doesn't it?

I think you do tend to find that don't you, like the people with life threatening illnesses like AIDS or cancer seem to enjoy life the most, and do the most challenging things. Like that lady that passed away not long ago from cancer, she did marathons and loads of things perfectly healthy people wouldn't even attempt. I guess something like that really changes your outlook on life.

^ Yeah I agree with the living life more to the full bit I think.
I guess it makes you appreciate it while it's there.

One dude has survived it. He got diagnosed with it and then went back for a check-up a year or two later or something and was completely cured of it. I can't remember if it was HIV or AIDS but yeah.
They're like testing the shit out of him now cos obviously he may be the key to a cure or whatever.
See, I listened in sex ed!

Aid's is a horrible thing. And it's much more wide-spread than people think now days. People think it's the gay community that has it most, but it isn't anymore. It seems to be mainly bisexual men spreading it around.
I have to be really careful, i live in islington, which has the highest rate of STD's in england, i won't sleep with anyone who even lives within like 10 miles from my house.
But the people i've met who have it do seem to be happy, making the most out of what they have left. I'm good a reading people, and with most people i think it's just a face they put on for friends and family. And maybie even for thereself.

yeah see that's what i thought. he might be overcompensating for it or something. i think he is genuinely a happy person though. he's getting married next year it's gonna be on the S4C and everything. probably the first gay wedding we've had up here or something lmao.
i'm think i might be looking at this from a completely selfish standpoint in that i'll just miss having him around. y'know when you click with someone and just get used to them being there all the time.

They probably fucked up the diagnosis. Because that doesn't seem possible to me =/ Not that I'm well read on aids or anything.

Lol I hope that isn't your only form of protection.
I agree about the whole "living your life to the full." People with life-threatening diseases tend to realise that life is short, possible even shorter for them so they're going to make the most of it. It's great seeing people like that because it provides hope and motivates others to do the same.
Gay men have the highest rate of HIV/ AIDS still, although it's becoming increasingly worrying for everyone, especially those under the age of 25.
I read about that bloke who was cured of HIV. God knows how that happened, I can't remember, but I think in a couple of decades time, they'll have found the cure for HIV and AIDS.
