Kerala is a unique mix of nature’s best. This land is bestowed with scenic grasslands, sandy beaches, mystic mountains and serene backwaters. The place is the ultimate destination for many international travelers. The land is also famous for Ayurveda. The popularity of Ayurveda and other traditional forms of healing are an important cause for tourism. Kerala is the only state that practices this system of medicine with absolute dedication. This system of is centuries old. It is a system that focuses on not only treating the ailment but also preventing the recurrence. Today, Ayurveda is an indispensable form of medicine. It involves a complete and holistic form of treatment that treats not only the affected part but also whole body.

A tourist’s itinerary must include a visit to Palakkad Kerala. It is an important town in Kerala that combines the grandeur of ancient times with the facilities of modern times. The name “palakkad” is derived from “pala” or Alsteria Scholaris tree and “kaadu” which means forest. The place is also called Gateway of Kerala and the Granary of Kerala. It is located on Kerala-Coimbatore highway. It is also close to Thrissur ( 80 kms) from Thrissur, the cultural capital of Kerala. It is an important district in Kerala and was once considered as the strong hold of Brahmins. This town is located in a gap called the “palghat gap” between the Western ghats and Nilgiri hills. The weather in this place is pleasant throughout the year. It is an important academic center. Since Palakkad is close to Coimbatore, many people speak Tamil in addition to Malayalam and English. Tourists come here to enjoy the wewather and other sightseeing attractions like the silent valley, Palakkad fort built by Hyder Ali, the erstwhile ruler of Mysore.
