So I've been browsing around the past few days now, and as I said in one of my previous posts I can't believe how "dead" this place has become.
It's quite saddening after seeing how great this place was before.

We may not be able to get the old folks back! But we can deffinatly get some new ones in!!!!

I don't know if somthing like this has been done before now.

But if it has that obviously died too!
so I am creating the official "Revive Teensay Boards" thread!
Let's all pull in together,

this is where we shall post ideas on how to get new people to join the forum.

I suggest creating a MySpace / Facebook page (who care's if it's done before, we'll do it again and we'll do it BETTER!) and just getting more "fresh meat" to Teensay.

This is manly old at whatever "oldies" are left becasue I know they will be the most eager, but it applies to anyone,

I had an idea for this t'other day actually. It's er...a bit begging but who cares, if it works in the end.

I think admin can send mass emails, if I'm not mistaken. They did it when there was a massive thing with Tomalonge and we all got emails from TS.

If we're going to revive Teensay, we have to look at it methodically. Firstly, let's begin by looking at the reasons why Teensay is dead.

Reasons:

1.) Lack of regulars posting.
2.) A lack of new members.
3.) The same, boring threads.
4.) Layout.
5.) Administration.

Why the reasons exist:

1.) The regulars aren't posting anymore as they believe that Teensay is in a state of irreversibility. As a result, they have jumped ship, exacerbating the present inactivity.

2.) There is a lack of new members because of how dead this place is, that is why they don't stick around. They have no motive to stay because there are thousands of more active forums than TS.

3.) Teensay has now been reduced to posting solely in Random Thoughts or the latest news threads. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, but it doesn't exactly generate discussion compared to a greater variety of threads.

4.) Teensay has had the same layout for years. It's not eye-catching, it's boring and it's the same as the layouts on countless other forums.

5.) The administation is almost non-existent and typical of a dictatorship.

Solutions:

1.) As mentioned already, send emails to all the regular members, what they need to realise is that TS needs them. There's no point in them coming back every few weeks to post 'omgz teensay is dead i miss it'. If they want to see Teensay return to how it once was, they have to return and post, simple as that. If they're waiting for things to pick up again, then it won't happen.

2.) Before we concentrate on new members, the boards have to be sorted out first. When the boards are more active and the place is beginning to pick up, new members will inevitably begin to join and hopefully they will stick around for longer. Also, if they join, let them drag up old threads, that seems to be working right now.

3.) This is a call to present regular members. Create more threads. They can be fun, serious, thought-provoking, debatable, boring, crazy or plain stupid. Right now, we're in a spiral of posting in the same threads either created by the profilic thread-starter Reporter Peon or threads that have been around for weeks. A greater variety of threads will allow for more discussion, posts, banter and hopefully new members signing up.

4.) There probably isn't anything we can do about this, but when people sign up they see the same layout that is present on many forums. We need it to be more eye-catching, inviting and unique. I'm going to include the sections on here as well. There isn't anything majorly wrong with them, but more can at least be established, or reshuffled. This place needs a good shake-up.

5.) Lastly, the administration of Teensay needs to be sorted out. Right now, Dave is the only administator on the boards and while he isn't a bad one, I feel that a regular member should also be an administrator. I know Dave will ignore this but I'm going to go ahead and say it anyway. Dave rarely posts and I believe it will be more beneficial if someone who is a present regular becomes admin, purely because we know the direction in which we want Teensay to go and we actually seem to be doing something about it. Another thing which will be ignored is the need for new moderators. This is what I propose:

Completely reshuffle or create new sections, and make a member the moderator of that forum. For example, Jren could be the moderator of the technology section, Mandehlin the moderator of the music section and if we create new sections, me being the moderator of a science forum. These are just examples, but I feel that if a certain member is good at something, they should be allowed to hone their skills in improving a certain section and generating discussion.

I know for a fact Dave will ignore everything I've said, and that is why it is so infuriating.
