Is it just a rumor that I heard that it is a tradition that bagpipers have to always be marching/moving? One of my music professors mentioned it to me when we saw a bagpiper at graduation (nevermind that story).

When we play as a band we usually like march to designated spot then form a circle..play for a while then march off...so if it is true we're obviously crap haha
