Well, perhaps you should care about the Richter scale, and so should everyone who has blown it out of proportion. I've studied earthquakes and Plate Tectonic Theory, and I know fine well that any earthquake occuring in UK will not be any higher than 6 on the Richter scale because we do not live in a violent plate tectonic area. And plus it happened inland, earthquakes are not as bad inland as they are if they occured in the middle of an ocean. Since the epicentre was Lincoln, most people should have noted this and understood that it was not dangerous before going 'OMG WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!'. I just don't see how people were hyped over a tremor that everyone should have known wasn't dangerous.

Well excuse me Mr. Professor. I studied plate tectonics in grade 9 and 10 geography too. I recognize the Richter scale, I just think that you should be more accepting of peoples personal emotions and back off.
