Labour has lost the Glasgow East by-election to the SNP. How much of a blow is this for the Labour Party?

I sure hope they recover, i'm no fan of Labour but imo all evidence points to a Tory government not being much better, I've barely learnt anything about Cameron's actual policie during his time as Conservative leader

It's a major blow for labour as they've lost a stronghold in one of the major cities in Scotland. This can only mean one of two things, either Scotland increasingly wants independence from the union, or that Scotland is still not ready to accept a conservative government after the disastrous poll tax implemented by Margaret Thatcher and have thus voted SNP instead.

I hope to God it's the latter as I don't believe the tories have demonstrated enough to Scotland their policies and once they do they will realise it is infinitely better than achieving independence which will inexorably make things worse.
