Connery, though Dalton was closer to Fleming's idea but his films failed sadly. Brosnan was OK in Goldeneye but after that it all started to get silly again. I hope that doesn't happen with Craig. Moore's early films were good but he was a more humorous Bond yet Moonraker onwards weren't so good. I'd say Connery for Goldfinger and Dr. No though.

I'm not sure why I think he is my favourite. I just think that out of all of them, he is what I consider Bond to look like. He looks the part, he's funny and his acting was better than some of the others. Also, Goldeneye and The World Is Not Enough were fucking brilliant, but I thought it went a bit over the top with Die Another Day.
Obviously Sean will always be one of the best, purely because he was the first Bond. I also like Timothy Dalton, I thought he was an ace Bond.

Same here. I've not seen him much in anything recent apart from Casino Royale, but he's been in a lot of old stuff I've watched and he's brilliant. I actually think he's one of the best Bonds.

Really, I thought it started getting silly around Tomorrow Never Dies time - when they thought they'd start adding ludicrous gadgets and idiotic stunts (bike sliding under helicopter scene anyone?). Maybe that put me off Brosnan more than anything else? I guess I disagree on him looking the part to, I never thought Bond to be this gruff Irish guy but then I suppose he wasn't supposed to have a hint of Scottish either and Fleming apparently wasn't overly chuffed when Connery got the role for Dr. No. I guess the amount of witticism's used by actors other than Connery didn't work so well with me, I think he's supposed to be a colder character than that in my opinion. I'll just ignore Lazenby, though the film wasn't bad that meta reference killed it. Craig's refresh certainly places him below Connery though if this film is as good as his last outing.
