Would ID cards improve security?
The government is expected to announce an 18-month ID card pilot scheme for employees at two airports. Should we all carry ID cards?

Maybe, just maybe.
On one hand it'll be good to prove your identity. On the other, something bad could go wrong with all the information stored about us.

It would improve security, but at what cost? They're supposed to minimise terrorism, but what if a terrorist agency gets hold of the contact details, or anyone else for that matter? I've said it once and I'll say it again, the government are no longer treating us as citizens, they're treating us as suspects.

Good quote!!
Did anybody watch that thing on Panaroma like two weeks ago on security could really make your paranoid. Talking about how they have information on us all and are planning to have more. Don't think I am comfortable with that idea.

Nah, I didn't watch it, but I've watched countless similar programs before. Nowadays, the UK Government is turning into a political system you'd expect to see in a George Orwell novel where we're going to be under constant and pervasive surveillance for the so-called 'security' of the country. That may have been slightly hyperbolised because I'm not really as paranoid as that and to some extent, I support certain policies regarding security because without it, there would be anarchy but with so much information going to be stored about us, that raises more questions about security and it constanly makes people feel they are being monitored.

It seems a little Big Brother-ish.
Everything like this has risks, especially with data etc. It could work, and improve some things, but how long until something went wrong with the system?
I really wanted to watch that! I missed it though x(
