Right this is something that has bugged me for some time and was just topped off by two things. The other night after a massive arguement with a parent I walked out and went to meet my other parent, as I was doing so at like 11 at night a guy walking by wolf whistled, not only was it in the most unoppotune moment it was dark outside and I was alone and it acutally made me quite scared. I was then reading an article in a magazine the other day and it commented on men wolf whistling at women and how it made women feel so my question is

Does it make you feel sexy to be wolf whistled at or scared and for men the same thing cause I don't mean it to be all towards the women's perspective.

If I wasn't such a cynic, I'd think it was flattering. I certainly wouldn't consider it threatening; an attacker/rapist won't warn you first with a nice indiscrete whistle.

I used to find it intimidating and embarrasing to be wolf whilstled at. But then I realised that in the vast majority of cases they mean no harm, so now I just see it as a compliment.

I'm sure it's just a bit of fun. Kind of means a woman is attractive. Just depends on the sense of humour of the woman. Like if she could take it as a compliment, or whether it would offend her.

I don't really see how it could be intimidating or anything. If some man wants to, for example attack you and rape you, he's not gonna wolf whistle at you first is he?

Personally I've never wolf whistled at anyone probably due to what I said above, as i'm not a great judge of how someone is feeling, and I might get abuse thrown at me maybe.

I can't go out and not be wolf-whistled/ called something nice across the street/ have some lads beep their car horns at me. Ever. It's just a bit of fun, if anything I like it, let's me know I've still got it . I usually smile back, it is a compliment for Christ's sake, we're just young and enjoying ourselves.

I just say

Well I used to until it was a fat sweaty builder.
I use that selectively now.
