Anyway, surely abortion is a way of dealing with the consequences of sex? I mean, a lot of the time people seem to regard it as an easy way out, but reading this thread highlights how horrific it is for those who have to go through it.

I totally agree. But I was almost 18, in a serious relationship with someone I loved, and used protection. The condom didn't even split. I was the 1%. Did I not deserve the right to have an abortion?

Considering it's the pill type of abortion I think it's a good idea, the waiting time for abortions needs to be cut as much as possible. If you think life begins at conception then it's no different to the morning after pill.

I never knew that you could get pregnant without it splitting. And I do think you had the right..But my friend had the pill thing, when she comes later I will ask her about her personal procedure.

My friend had a tablet orally for an abortion and she got terrible stomach pains. She had to stay in hospital for a few hours and then she went to the toilet there and it came out of her. She said she felt the need to push (not as bad as labour obv) and when she did she saw it. She said she wrapped it in tissue and flushed it away coz she didn't know what to do with it. She said it looked like those little squidgy aliens you get...

Man that conversation was fucked up. I felt so bad for her.

I also know someone (v close to me) who had an abortion, I'm not sure which method, but it was later on in the pregnancy and she had to go into labour and she said it looked like a seahorse. This was many years agooo and the nurses were WELL nasty to people having an abortion.

ALSO..final point lol...my sister in law wanted an abortion when she got pregnant last year (her second child but not financially stable enough for a second) but the waiting list for one on the NHS was so long that she would have gone past the tablet stage and have to give birth to it, so she said fuck it, i can't do that. She had the baby and is struggling along with two beautiful daughters now lol sucks

I'm not to sure about this, on one hand women need to have the option, but others seem to use it as a method to not get pregnant (Although they already are, cant remember the name, begins with C).

However, if a women is raped...your not really going to want to keep it are you? Or go though all that?

It's more the sensible ones who get an abortion, like in my case, I would of never brought that baby into the world I knew that I wouldn't of give it the best life, no way was I ready to be tied down so I wasn't going to keep it. So what if I have slept around a bit, when I did get caught I was in a relationship for a year and I was on the pill. I know I'd rather wait till I'm older when I'm READY and have lived my life than be stuck in a one bedroom grubby flat living on pennies a week to buy nappies and push around a grubby baby in a second hand pram etc =/
