Title sounds stupid because it sort of rhymes.

This is what I hope is gonna happen. I'm going to give a topic that hopefully everybody will have some sort of opinion on. You will argue ON THE OTHER SIDE.
Every two or three days I'll change the topic so If this kicks off it should hopefully liven the place up. Don't chicken out because you can't write long paragraphs. You can give one line responses if you want.

Abortions I'm hoping this is?

If you are raped, you should be able to have an abortion. They are not babies before 3months in my opinion. They are featuses. They don't FEEL.

I don't know how I feel about anything else yet so I'll wait for some other people to talk.

OH RIGHT. Ok. Well as I don't have any strong opinions on it, I'll still have to wait for people to post more.

Ok well my own opinion probably leans more to pro-choice, although I could never have an abortion myself. Simply through personal choice and feelings, rather than feeling that it's immoral. I would never judge someone that decided abortion was the best route for them, as I think they will have very good reasons for their actions, and everybody is entitled to the right to do what they like with their own body - a fetus being a part of their body, not another human body.

So that means I'm arguing as pro-life then...

Abortion is immoral. You are playing God when you take a child's life into your own hands. There are potentially three situations where you might feel the need to abort the child.

Disability

Who decided that JUST because someone is disabled they are not entitled to life? In a lot of places abortion is legal up until BIRTH if the unborn child is known to be disabled. Disabled people can have a reasonable quality of life, why deny them of that? Perhaps after the birth the child will die, or perhaps a few years down the line...but that is NATURAL death, the child should be granted life, no matter how long or short that may be. Think about it...if a person had a terrible accident and ended up mentally handicapped - should they be denied the right to live any longer?

Rape

Of course, to be raped is a horrific ordeal. To discover you are pregnant with a child made from a rapist is even worse. However, aborting the child does not make the pain go away, and it certainy does not erase the rape. Abortion is violence, therefore esentially you are treating violence with violence. You are trying to make a right out of two wrongs and it doesn't work that way. The baby concerned did not CHOOSE to be made from a rapist, and just because it's father commited such a crime does not mean the child will follow in the father's footsteps. The child is entitled to life, whether it was given it from a rapist, murderer, drug addict or even perfectly good citizens.

Social/Mental

The final reason for abortion, and the most common, is the social and/or mental implications. Perhaps you might decide it is acceptable to abort a child because you don't have "enough money" or a "big enough house" or a "stable relationship." A child does not need materialistic things to have a happy childhood - a child does not NEED both parents to be living together to have a normal childhood. Even at WORST case scenario, where the mother, father or both were physically unable to raise the child, the child could quite easily be adopted into a loving family prepared to provide care. The child should be granted the right to live, even if it doesn't seem like the most practical idea. Playing with life is not a matter of practicality, it's a matter of LIFE. Life is sacred and should not be taken away from ANYONE - be they 11 days into gestation, 11 years old, or 111!

My opinion is pro-choice.
To me abortions are a personal choice, which depend upon feelings and the situations.
I don't agree with abortions when it gets to the stage of the babies developments.
The situations I would agree with are the likes of, genuine mistakes, rape, disability and teenagers who are not ready at all. Saying that thought I don't agree with people who don't take precautions when they have sex, and don't care about the possibility of a pregnancy because they know they can go to the doctors, people who have abortions all the time are immoral. I don't tend to judge people who have abortions, but the likes of those people I have to.

So to twist it would make it pro life.

And I will come back to this. Because I want to think about my answer instead of just rambling like I did up there ^
