I've searched on google and found so many sites saying the complete opposite to each other and it's so confusing. Anyone know if they actually do make the pill less effective? The nurse who gave me the antibiotics said to take extra care.. but a lot of websites say that's rubbish and nobody's ever carried out research into it. Help pleasee.

i agree with pf.

This is probably an old wives tale, but someone i know (shes like 35 now) said she got pregnant while on the pill and condom because she was taking caugh syrup. Like something in that makes the pill not work, and the condom obviously didn't work.

ha, i dunno what i'm talking about.

My doctor has always told me to use condoms as well as my pill when I've taken antibiotics, so yeah, it's probably true.
