Errr
My doctor suggested I get the "coil" to help with my bad periods I have been having recently. Yet when I looked into it some of the side affects are "Extremely heavy periods". Either my doctor is on drugs or thats wrong. Has anyone got it before? I'm a bit hesitant about the idea. It looks quite painfull and also very invasive.

It's also meant to give you bad cramps aswell, have you took any medication for your bad periods before?

Have you tried the pill? That really worked for me when my periods were really heavy and painful.

Carly: Yeah I have but there is only certain ones I can take and they didn't really help this is a last resort.
Bliss: I can't take the pill because of an operation I had a few months ago. I wish I could.

Have you ever took tranexamic acid, I've tried alot of things aswell and this is the only one that helps me.

He prescribed me Ponstan Forte tablets recently but they are fucking useless.

When you say bad to you mean like really bad craps/heavy etc.?
I think things you could try before the coil, especially if you feel abit =/ about it.

Yeah really heavy and painfull. My mams sort of pushing me into getting it tbh. I dunno, I have another doctors appointment tomorrow. I will see what she says.

I think you're a bit young for it to be honest...it's not something I'd get.
Perhaps you could try Mefenamic Acid - Mefenamic acid
It's something I was prescribed when I was about 13/14, it didn't help me a great deal, but I have a friend who can't live without it - it completely relieves her of pains etc.
The pill thing - is that permanent or will you be able to try it eventually? |
