Waxing
I've been seeing waxing ads for a while now and was curious. Mostly about how long regrowth took. Today I went into Boots and got some strips, got home, tried it. They're type where you rubs them to warm them, smooth them on your legs (or wherever) and pull. Thing is, they didn't really seem to work. They only got about 30% of the hairs after about 4 tries. Not sure if I'm doing anything wrong or if there's a certain way to do it. Maybe it was because my legs weren't full on hairy yet, only about 3 days of growth. Any ideas?
EDIT: I apologise for my poor way of phrasing. I've been ill for a few days and I can't work out if I'm reading it wrong or if I typed it wrong or both. I'm not going to try to correct it but hopefully the next thing I type makes a little more sense.

Reason: Awful, awful use of the english language.

i have that problem too, i eventually gave up and stuck to shaving, i think its just really strong hair roots, clinging on for their lives. you could try hair removal cream, it gets roots too, and generally works better. stinks though. although 3 days growth probably isn't enough, did it say how long the hair should be before waxing in the leaflet things or on the back of the box?

I hate hair removal stuff, would rather shave. Was just curious how well waxing worked really. I'm going to give it a bit longer and try again I think.

It fucking kained and didn't take all the hair off, so now it looks worse 'cus I've got like patches of hair on my top lip so it looks even more noticable and were the hair did come out i've got loads of little spots there haha!

Those waxing strips you used, I used similar ones to what your describing.
When I used them, I found that they made my legs sticky? and failed completely.
They also gave my leg a rash? From the ripping..I think for them to work, you have to splash the cash...I paid like Three pounds.. =/

Chances are you need to leave it for longer. I normally leave about 2 weeks at least, and the little red bumps go down after a day or so.

i agree with the waxing strips, they hurt like hell....and give you a sore rash, and make you come out in lots of spots....but ive also found that shaving makes me itch....badly....ive tried creams and everthing, and even used the veet cream and stuff.....but i still get sore and itchy....any advice?

Waxing strips will hurt more because they're not hot enough, the wax needs to be able to set around the hair to pull it out properly/more painlessly. Cold waxing strips don't set, so that they can be peeled apart etc. They might work okay-ish, as long as you do it quick enough.
If you're doing it yourself, hot wax will work better in the majority of cases.
It could be a little messy if you're doing it yourself, but as long as your careful it should be okay.
If you're waxing legs use soft wax, as it's hot it can grip hair better and will be less painful (in theory). It also comes off better on the strips and will probably leave less wax on you.
With bikini waxes, hard wax would probably be better. You melt it down from the solid, and it basically goes hard in seconds, you don't have to use strips with it and once it's on there's only one wax to get it off =P
Whatever you do just make sure you pull the wax of smoothly an quickly, otherwise it can bruise you/leave wax on your skin etc.
