This doesn't really concern anyone but it's been taking up my thoughts since yesterday so I was just wondering if anyone heard of Derek Paravicini? He is blind, autistic and has the IQ of a four year old but he is a musical prodigy. He can hear a piece of music being played to him, just the once, like Mozart or some obscure, complex piece he has never heard before and remember all of it, note for note. He also has absolute pitch. When music is played to him, he can not only distinquish a single note of music but he can also distinquish each note when 10 piano keys are played at once. He also listened to an orchestra play music, which is tens of instruments playing, each with different notes and keys and he could still distinquish each and every single note and play it on the piano. Isn't that amazing?

That proves there are positive and negative Retardation. Its quite simple, we define normal as noticing notes pitches etc. He finds it normal to distinguise notes in a chord.

I've heard, and seen this guy on TV before. I find people who can do this amazing. I can't possibly fathom how they do it. And as I remember from the show, his actual technique on the piano was actually good. Which is amazing in the fact that most of the technique stuff takes tons and tons of practice and isn't always intuitive.
I've heard people that can hear up to 16 notes and distinguish them all. YIKES! A lot of people have absolute picth, and relative pitch can be taught through training. I wish I had better relative pitch, though I feel like I'm pretty good at it (depending on the day!)
At first I thought you said mozart was obscure, and I was like.. what! then I read it again, haha <3
