I died my hair DARK BROWN and it went BLACK Think it 'cus my hair short and I plastered my head in dye, so like is there anyway I can get it a bit lighter? I know you can't do shit once it's black but hey worth a try, I look like a goth man and can't do my makeup how I usually do it 'cus I just look silly I need to do something 'cus I meeting my could be future husband saturday (N)

wash it right away? I'm sure some of the color will come out. I dyed my hair dark brown, and at first I thought it looked black. Wash it a few times, and I'm sure it'll lighten up?

Buy a highlighting kit from the drugstore, not too pricey and pretty easy to use. Don't go for like bleach blonde highlights, will look too weird with such a contrast going on. I'd try for some warm reddy brown ones or dark blonde/light brown ones.

& this really dries out your hair (not permanently, but for a while) but if you put like a *DIME SIZE * of dish soap into your hands and mix it with conditioner while in the shower a looot of the colour comes pouring out. That's what I did when mine went black by accident & it lightened it quite a bit! But my hair was like dry as fuck for a week or two so I was using all these deep conditioning treatments and it went back to normz.

Like basically a little drop of the liquid soap you use to wash your dishes & mix it into your conditioner in your palm. I'm warning you tho it does really dry out your hair for a while & is not healthy for it at all. I would personally just buy a highlighting kit.

Girls allllllllways do this when dying their hair brown! You needed to do it a light brown to make it normal brown on light hair.

I couldn't get the black out of my hair just by washing it soo.... bleach it all and dye it light brown? haha

You will have to get it stripped in the hairdressers! (well bad for your hair btw) and then get a pre lightner in it and then a light brown.

Ah the joys of having a sister hairdresser.

Try washing it a few times, I heard lemon juice is used to lighten hair but I dunno whether thats just for blonde hair
