My Grandad had a stroke about 2/3 years ago..
And hes never really been the same obviously, due to the effects a stroke has.
But now..Hes been ill for over a month, and hes in hospital.
My mum and dad are split up..but my dad called my mum, and he told her..My grandad has a few days left to live, and has cancer in both lungs..
I knew he'd stopped smoking like, but I was totally oblivious to anything else being wrong..Me and my brother are the youngest grandchildren, and I don't know if the rest knew..but now hes going to die in the next few days and :/
I feel terrible, I wasn't that close to him..Cause of his stroke, and the fact we didn't go down there alot until mum and dad split up..
But I feel so guilty, And I don't know..This isn't a rant really, I can't remember if we had a tears section. And I bet I don't cry either, cause I am just a stupid person who doesn't express her emotions at all.

It's normal to feel guilty about not feeling close enough to someone. Strange as it may seem.

There's nothing you can do but go and see him and let him know you love him. But you can't blame yourself, talk to someone in your family about it coz this will be so bad for you if it builds up.

I wont get to see him in hospital.
And I don't like talking to people about it, on the internet's ok..but idk
i don't even feel like typing about it.

I'm sure if you asked your parents they could get you down to the hospital, I think it's definately worth going else you'll spend the rest of your life wishing you had've done more. Grab the chance you have to see him while you can.

No its not that I can't find transport..
Its more, that my dads side of the family or more different..Like I don't think I'd be wanted there, or allowed there..When he had the stroke, he was in hospital for months..and my dad still lived here, but we never got to see him until he was just about to be released.. They see us as the children, who shouldn't be in the way of grown up situations I think.

Just ignore them and go for it, you shouldn't let people like that get in the way of something like this. It's better to feel unwanted for a little while than guilty for god knows how long.

Plus, you making such an effort to go and see him would probably impress them and show them that you're far more grown up than they think.
