Last night my bf and I, his sister and her fiancee, and about four other mates went round to this guy steve's place to have a few quiet drinks, and my boyfriend, who isnt normally a huge drinker, bought two bottles of wine, one a red merlot and the other was a white wine, not to sure what it was. They were sposed to be for both of us, but I was not only sober driver but I also have liver problems, so there was no way I was drinking. Well somehow my boyfriend managed to finish both of these quite large bottles of wine in less than an hour and a half, and I was starting to get quite worried, i mean, ive seen him drunk before but ive never seen him quite this trashed, and he finally sat down and he started to fall asleep (only 10/15 minutes after finishing off his wine) and i realized that i needed to keep him awake and get some water into him. So i kept talking to him but he was leaning on my shoulder and had his eyes closed and i couldnt keep him awake, so i asked Steve and my Hamish (my bfs, sisters, fiancee to help me get him out to the car so i could take him home. Well by that point he was well unconcious and we got him to the door a couple of metres away when we realized he wasnt going anywhere and he needed help. He started to throw up in his mouth and so we got a plastic cover on the ground, and turned him into the recovery position, and I was trying to get his attention and wake him up and make sure he was breathing and I was almost in tears I was so worried, We set up a mattress for him in another room and Hamish and Steve managed to get him in there and lay him back down into the recovery position meanwhile his sister, ella got him a blanket and I took off his shoes, jersey and belt.

Steve and I went out to go get some smokes because i was really worked up and stressed (i had quit smoking only yesterday so i was craving like mad) and when we got back, Ella said that he had vomitted everywhere, to i rushed to clean up (cos red wine stains like a bitch) and she kicked me out. Said he wouldnt want me there. Ive been with him for a year, ive held his hair back as he has vomitted, ive seen him naked plenty of times, and the bitch kicked me out, and wouldnt let me see him for the rest of the night.

So they took his clothes off, and showered him, and left him to sleep in the bath tub with a blanket and then insisted that I drive them home.

This morning he got up and was fine but didnt remember anything and looked at me really accusingly demanding where the hell his clothes were. I got him wrapped up in a blanket and got all his stuff and got him into the car to bring him home because he really wanted to come home, and even though its only a 15 minute drive by the time we got back he was too sick to get out of the car so he sat there for about an hour, i kept bringing him water, and whiping his face, and just generally helping him, and after around an hour and a half ella and hamish got out of bed, and ella tried to push me away and i got really mad, and i finally got james into the room and i told him how she had kicked me out last night and wouldnt let me see him and he was real upset, he said that he would have preferred me than having his sister and her fiancee taking his clothes off and showering him etc, and she got really pissed off that i wouldnt let her help this morning but he is my boyfriend and he didnt want people pouring over him he just wanted me there with him, and aparently he had been in tears cos he thought i had left and gone home but she wouldnt let me in there

So now she isnt talking to me

and im still really worried about him

How is that in any way alcohol poisoning? It's called being wankered. :-\

Wine actually has a higher alcoholic content than beer. Depending on the concentration of the Wine (typically its 13%) and the size of the bottle, he could have easily has a mild case of alcohol poisioning.

Have you never been to a party or something? Some of my friends are always getting in states and passing out and stuff.. we just leave them in the bathroom or something and they're always fineeee lol.

Wine comes in about 75 cl bottles, so two bottles is 3 pints, at about double the alcohol concentration, maybe a bit more, that's 6 or 7 pints...

I agree in that everyone gets a tad to drunk sometimes, but I still think its okay to worry. You hear those rare stories of someone drinking too much, but because friends don't think its that much, they don't worry, and .. then the person never wakes up in the morning I dunno, alcohol isn't all just fun and games. Most of the time its okay, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't watch yourself. (i'm kinda a mom about this all, but its still a drug!)

You also have to take into account how fast he drank it, his body weight and his alcohol tolerance.

You should have let the poor guy sleep it off and shower in the morning while his head was sore. It's fine to worry if you hadn't seen him that pissed before.

I would drink more than that before I go into town but maybe not that quick. Bloody noobs.

A friend of my sisters died because he was "fucked up" on morphine and alcohol and he passed out on his back and because his friends that that he was ok they left him. He vomited and choked to death.

I think she's in the clear to worry.

I remember when my best friend got this drunk. He was hallucinating and I was petrified. I cried down the phone to my mum until she agreed to come home.

Granted, I was only 15, but I still think you were right to worry.
