If only it was when I do overtime...but sadly its all the time

The way I see it (in supermarkets):
All tills are absolutely packed and there's a 10 item till empty. I have 12 items. Me going to the 10 item till at this time increases efficiency of the supermarket as it reduces the queue on the tills (as I'm not also in that queue). 10 items is chosen because 10 is a nice round number, going slightly over the limit makes virtually no difference. Only once have I been moaned at (as I don't go there if I have too many items or if there's people queueing there).
