About 9 months ago i got Glandular fever. Although a horrid thing to have, generally not a killer. unfortunately my liver got really damaged, and for quite a while i was in some serious pain. Not long afterwards i started having seizures and was put on medication for epilepsy which i reacted to quite badly. My medication was changed, and suddenly i started getting rapidly sicker, and my pain level started increasing rapidly. A few weeks ago the doctor finally started to listen to me when i said there was something seriously wrong with me. Now i have to go for an ultrasound as my doctor suspects (and the blood tests indicate) that im having the starts of liver failure. Now im really scared about whats going to happen and i really feel like ive been sick forever, and its my birthday in just over a week, and i dont want to be in hospital again I just want to be able to lead a normal life like a normal person of my age.

Awh bummer. I had glandular fever a few years back, thankfully i recovered well after a few weeks though!

Sorry to hear you're still sick All I can say is stay positive, even if you do have liver failure - it's not like it's a death sentence. You CAN get better from it, you can have a transplant and you CAN lead a normal life, all you have to do is stay positive and be DETERMINED to get better!

Thanks all. The guy who did the ultrasound said it looked pretty bad but not to worry until i got the official results in a couple of days. im keeping positive because im not just living for me at the moment, and i know that if i break down its gonna be too much for my boyfriend to handle, he is already blaming himself because he is the one who i originally contracted the glandular fever from.

Not that I can relate, but I JUST JUST woke up from a dream where I had this horrible disease, and I was told I only had maybe 2 years to live. It was very scary even in the dream. I really hope all works out, .. and yes, stay positiive!
