6 films altogether have been made with these 2 massive franchises, each having films, toys, posters, DVDs, videos everything you could want from a franchise.
And in Predator 2, we all saw it, the Alien skull on the wall of the Predator craft which blew everything wide open with people asking for years "well, what if", and now, we have it. We have arguably the 2 most popular fictional franchises collide in 1 massive film. Alien Versus Predator.
But, did the film succeed? After watching it at the cinema, I am sorry to say for my sake because I have been waiting for this film for years now, that it was rather disappointing.
The film gets too farfetched at times because you don't know whos coming or going to an extent. We get the idea of these predators who have founded the Human race in Antartica and the Predators back every 100 years to battle with Aliens.
This film had good parts though in fairness, as we see some great fighting scenes, great graphics and reasonable storyline.
As with nearly every film, there is always a down side. In this case, we had the Predators changed a little to much as we expected the exact same predator from number 1. But we had 3 different kinds of predators with different moves and techniques which I and a lot of people were just not accustomed to.
We expected to see the same things in the movie but we were all presently surprised at how it was panned out.
My Conclusion,
All in all, not a bad a film, I would recommend to watch it and a must see for any die hard fans as it prolongs the saga for another few films in the making with Sigourney Weaver already agreeing to Aliens 5 and Predator 3 still rumoured. Watch this space for more Predator and Alien films...
