Amazon teams up with TIVO to download movies.

Just a day or two ago there was big news that Wal-Mart was going to try to sell movies online by allowing people to download them off the net. Well today Amazon announced that they have begun testing a new movie downloading service of its own. What makes this new downloading service even better you may ask; well it won’t require a computer. Instead the new downloading service will require a TiVo digital recorder which will allow these movies to be played right away on a television set.
Wal-Mart’s new service website has not been going to well. In fact according to The Inquirer which is a British tech site, they state that the site is “an embarrassment of awfulness.” They continue on by stating that the site looked worse than a first time HTML Student and that they wonder if the site was tested at all.
In other movie downloading news, they Daily Variety reported on Wednesday that Apple Computers has agreed to pay more money for digitally enhanced copies of Paramount’s movie library than any other retailers do but will be able to sell them at lower cost than any of the other retailers.
I guess movie downloading will become the wave of the future but like all technology only time will tell for sure.
