Another Pointless Sequel: Harold and Kumar 2
Share this Story
While I never been a fan of stoner comedies, I think even the fans would agree that a sequel to Hard and Kumar Go to White Castle is completely unnecessary. However that hasn’t stopped New Line Cinema from starting production on the sequel to the hit film. That’s right it is already in production. The film will star the original stars John Cho and Kal Penn as well as plenty of cameo appearing by and including David Krumholtz, Christopher Meloni, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Roger Bart, and many more.
The sequel will follow Harold and Kumar as they head to Amsterdam (the film is being shot in Louisiana) and it will focus on Harold trying to track down Maria who is the love of his life. On their journey to find Maria, Kumar gets mistaken as a terrorist and Harold winds up at Gitmo. The weird encounter will feature plenty of wackos, jerks, and whores which I guess involves all these surprise cameo appearances.
The film will be written and directed by Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg who are first time directors. This kind of scares me but then again the idea of a sequel for a stoner comedy scares me too but so maybe it will be fine. As of now there is no date for when the film will be released in theaters but for some reason I have a feeling it will be released sometime near the end of this year.
