Audiences Don't get Grindhouse

The trailers and television spots for Grindhouse peaked my interest but not enough to have me run out to see it this past weekend when it opened. Well apparently I wasn’t the only one who didn’t see Grindhouse this past weekend since Harvey Weinstein has stated he was disappointed with the films performance at the box office. The film was slated as a double bill film which means two films can be seen for the price of one but the film didn’t do well at all and just made about 11.6 million this past weekend. Well Harvey Weinstein now says that the film will be broken in two because he feels that the films by well known directors Quentin Tarantino as well as Robert Rodriguez will do better individually. He tells pagesix.com that he didn’t think that people understood the two for one deal that they were trying to do. But I think it’s more or less the appeal. It’s not a main stream film and every few people would probably appreciate it for what it is. I think Weinstein is just being greedy and doesn’t realize that maybe this film is not suppose to be the big hit like he wants it to be.
