Director needed for next Bond film

With the huge success of Casino Royale you wouldn’t think there would not be any issues involving the next installment in what seems to be the never ending film franchise. Well it looks like there is an issue because director Martin Campbell who directed Royale as well as several other Bond films has decided not to return for the upcoming Bond film entitled Bond 22.
The news came when Martin Campbell was in China promoting Casino Royale and this is where Campbell stated that it was “highly unlikely” that he would be returning to do anymore of the Bond films. Unfortunately Campbell didn’t give a good reason why he did not want to be involved with the next entry however he has been known to create some of the best Bond films in recent history including the original Pierce Brosnan role as Bond in Goldeneye.
But don’t worry Bond fans because Bond 22 isn’t suppose to start production until January 2008 so I guess the entire 11 months off will allow MGM as well as the rest of the cast to find a new director. The film also needs a script too so I guess over the next 11 months MGM has a lot of work on their hands.
