Dreamgirls has been in the press a lot lately which seems odd since the film has not yet opened in theaters. Well the new debate with the film is that there are rumors going around that Paramount and DreamWorks Studios are pushing for Beyonce Knowles to get nominated for Best Actress at the Oscars next year instead of Jennifer Hudson. The interesting thing is this I read reviews from the film and everyone claims that Jennifer Hudson steals the show. According to an internet rumor it seems that there is a clause in Hudson’s contract that gave the two studios mentioned the right to actually allow her performance in Dreamgirls to be considered only for Best Supporting Actress because her co star Beyonce should be nominated for best actress for her performance as Deena Jones. According to Paramount they state that the decision was not contractual and a source says that Hudson doesn’t see this as an issue since she can win as Supporting actress rather than Best actress. Personally this sounds pretty shady. I doubt Beyonce is that good of an actress to ever be nominated let alone win an academy award,
