Happy Feet Dances its way to the top

While many have said that the newest James Bond flick Casino Royale would easily get the number one spot this past weekend for ticket sales it turns out everyone was wrong. Some how or another the cool (no pun intended) dancing penguin movie “Happy Feet” has instead beating out James Bond at the Box Office.
Happy Feet brought in 42.3 million in just three days alone while Casino Royale brought in 40.6 million. Not that big of deal per say but almost every time in the past when a Bond film opened wide it would always be number one at the box office after the opening weekend. I guess tap dancing and singing penguins are more exciting nowadays then cool guys and blowing up things.
Personally I would have opted to see Happy Feet over Casino Royale any day. Not to say I don’t want to see Casino Royale because Daniel Craig looks like he makes one hell of a Bond and the critics gave it terrific reviews but the cool animation and music in Happy Feet make that a bigger “must see” for me than Bond. It will be interesting though to see how the films hold up over the next few weeks as more of the biggest Christmas movies start hitting the silver screen.
