James Cameron Returns to the directors chair

Believe it or not, the director known to the world as James Cameron has not directed a single film since he directed the overrated and over hyped Titanic way back in 1997. However, the good news is that James Cameron has decided to return to the directors chair and make a new film which is entitled Avatar.
Avatar will be released by Fox Entertainment and it is said and confirmed that James Cameron will begin shooting the virtual photography for the new sci-fi epic this April. After that Cameron will begin to shoot the live action scenes in August.
But to make Cameron’s return even better he also wrote the screenplay for the feature film and will also be producing the film as well.
The plot of Avatar tells the story of a wounded marine who is sent to a faraway planet against his wishes and while there finds himself caught up in a battle for survival with the planet’s inhabitants.
According to Cameron he says that he has actually been the busiest unemployed direct because he promises that this movie will be unlike any movie audiences have seen in quite some time. Cameron vows “We're going to blow you to the back wall of the theatre in a way you haven't seen for a long time. My goal is to rekindle those amazing mystical moments my generation felt when we first saw 2001: A Space Odyssey or the next generation's Star Wars. It took me 10 years to find something hard enough to be interesting."
That’s quite a promise from a man who hasn’t directed a film in 10 years but since Cameron did make the original Terminator along with Terminator 2 and Aliens I guess we can believe he is trustworthy and capable of making a great film.
Avatar is rumored to have a budget of $190 million dollars and will be a mix of both action and animation. The film is set for a summer 2009 release.
