Tonight, He Comes which is an upcoming superhero drama. Bateman has been rumored to star in the film ever since the cancellation of my favorite television series Arrested Development but not until today was that news confirms. Bateman will be joining both Will Smith and Charlize Theron in the film.
The film will be centered on an alcoholic superhero played by Smith who saved a Public Relations executive played by Bateman. The executive then tries to help the forgotten hero reinvent his image but along the way the hero falls in love with the executive’s wife who will be played by Charlize Theron.
For the most part the film sounds like it could be rather interesting as long as the film doesn’t go too overboard on the sappiness. I can see the film working as a dramedy rather than a solid drama. The film will be directed by Peter Berg who was the man behind the hit football drama Friday Night Lights. This film has been in talks for several years now and it seems like it will finally get off the ground since the movie is suppose to go into production this spring.
This is not the first time however that director Peter Berg and Jason Batmen have worked together. In fact they also worked together on the upcoming film Smokin Aces as well as the upcoming war drama The Kingdom both of which that open later in the year. If that’s not enough Jason Bateman for you, be sure to check him out in Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium where he costars alongside Oscar Winner Dustin Hoffman and Golden Globe winner Natalie Portman.
