Barrymore is threatening to make another sequel to Charlie's Angels. She told a US news network, "I know Cameron [Diaz], Lucy [Liu] and I would all sign up if there was one, but there are no plans in the works. All three of us still hang out all the time anyway, so we might as well be filming it." Well, that's true Drew: going by the first two instalments there's no need for a script or even the vaguest semblance of a story.
Nonetheless the franchise has netted Sony $260m, but the studio is cautious about proceeding with a third film since the last one cost an obscene $120m. Well, the girls can't be expected to fight crime in cheap shoes...
Julian McMahon has been chatting to Dark Horizons about his role in the upcoming Fantastic Four. He plays villain Victor Von Doom who's pitted against a group of do-gooding mutant astronauts. "You know everyone always says the villains are the fun ones to play, well there is definitely a part of me that agrees with that," said the Aussie thesp. However, he was also quick to add that Von Doom isn't just another camp comicbook baddie.
"I feel like it is important to show the audience different sides of the personality, so it is not just a bad guy, but this guy who is multi-layered," he explained, before - be warned - letting slip a spoiler the size of Fantastic Four's super bruiser, The Thing. "At the end of the movie I'd like to have the audience a little conflicted as to whether they want him to die." I guess we now know how it ends then...
Talking of comicbook mutants, director Brett Ratner is said to be considering a super sexy addition to the cast of X3. According to Ananova, the new character will be a beautiful woman who secretes a highly intoxicating pheromone that allows her to bend any man to her will.
Insiders reckon that starlet Aya Sumika is in contention for the role after making a splash in US cop show Hawaii along with newcomer Katie Nauta who's soon to be seen in The Transporter 2. However, they also add that Ratner is planning an open audition because, why spend money at the local strip bar when you're a Hollywood director?
