Natalie Portman sits in the Directors Chair.

One of my favorite actresses in Hollywood has got to be Natalie Portman who has starred in such films as Garden State and V for Vendetta. But now it looks like Miss. Portman is taking on another role in Hollywood, that’s right Natalie Portman is going to be sitting in the director’s chair on a new film. The new film she wants to direct is the adaptation of writer Amos Oz’ critically acclaimed autobiography “A Tale of Love and Darkness.” But that’s not all she has already sat down and chatted with Jerusalem Capital Studios which is the company that owns the rights to the novel. The studio not only discussed the probability of her directing the film but also being the star as well.
The story is based on Oz’ upbringing in Jerusalem and tells the story of how he dealt with fighting and civil unrest that was occurring as he was growing up. Portman is rumored to play Oz’ mother in the film however no other cast is listed at this time.
While Portman might seem like she has disappeared from the spotlight for the past few months it’s only because she has been working on several films including Goya’a Ghost, Mr. Magoriums Wonder Emporium, My Blueberry Nights, and The Other Boleyn Girl. So I guess within the next two years we will be seeing a lot more of Natalie on the silver screen.
