New Buddy Comedy with Tom Cruise and Ben Stiller?

It looks like there is going to be a new buddy flick coming soon to theaters and its stars an unlikely duo: Tom Cruise and Ben Stiller. I never would have thought in a million years that I would see those two people in the same film. But it seems like a film with the unlikely duo will in fact happen. In fact Tom Cruise was talking with Judd Apatow the man who directed The 40 Year Old Virgin and it looks like sometime in the near future Stiller and Cruise will star in a film together.
Stiller has already approached Cruise and asked him to star in his film Tropic Thunder but rumor has it that Cruise denied the role because it was a spoof on films like Mission Impossible which as we all know was one of Cruise’s biggest film franchises. Stiller has accepted that Cruise has passed on the role and will play in the role himself.
However, they are planning on joining focuses to work in the upcoming comedy The Hardy Man. The film will be made by Fox Studios and will be about the Hardy Boys (the famous book series) who have grown up but are still trying to solve ridiculous crimes. Stiller will be staring but also help produce the film and Shawn Levy will be the man in the directors chair.
No other news about the project has surfaced yet however I am really looking forward to this because I think it could be a very fun and hilarious time.
