Nicolas Cage’s new movie role

While Nicolas Cage finishes filming, the sure to be a flop, Oliver Stone 9/11 drama called World Trade Center, he as signed on to star in yet another movie. This time around Nicolas Cage is going to start in a action thriller titled Crazy Dog. The film is going to be directed by Joe Ruben the man who brought us the forgotten which most who have seen the film have forgotten. The film currently has two writers one of which is Henry Bean who wrote Internal Affairs and Nick Kazan who wrote the J-LO comedy Enough (yes I know it was a drama but to me it was so bad it was funny). The film’s basic plot is about a New York City cop (yawn) who’s lack of resolve and courage in a particularly dangerous situation causes a death of one of his close friends. The movie continues on as he has to deal with his guilt and responsibility for his friend’s death and he embarks on a drug fueled journey of self realization and suicidal ideation. This is of course until he gains enough courage to face his problems. I am not sure what to think but I must say Nicolas Cage has been doing some of his best work of his career over the last few years from Adaptation to Weather Man. I just think these new projects are a little beneath his caliber but I will probably check them out just to see how they are. Along with Crazy Dog and World Trade Center, Nicolas Cage has Ghost Rider coming out and is also filming a psychological thriller entitled Next.
