No more Spiderman for Tobey Maguire.

Well here is some shocking news; it looks like Tobey Maguire has confirmed that Spiderman 3 will be the final installment that involves him in it. But to top it off even further, Kristen Dunst also stated that she feels that the 3rd film should be the last film in the franchise as well. So maybe like the trailer for the 3rd film states, maybe this will be the end of Spiderman as a movie franchise. Personally I highly doubt it because when Spiderman 3 opens in just a few shorts months and brings in over $300 million in the United States alone, I am sure the folks at Columbia Pictures will be begging Maguire and Dunst to come back to the franchise, not to mention a hefty pay increase.
But to follow this particular story at the moment, Maguire in a recent interview stated, "To me it seems like this is a natural point for the team to break up because we have a lot of story conclusions that were going along for the main characters for the first two movies and we kind of tie almost everything up for the third movie.”It feels like a trilogy to me and it feels like the end."
Of course Sam Raimi the director of the film best known otherwise for his horror comedy Evil Dead franchisee says that he isn’t so sure that the 3rd will be the final film for the hero. In fact, in a recent interview Raimi said that he is still seriously considering a fourth film. And why wouldn’t he because this franchise is a money maker! Because out of all comic book films released thus far Spiderman has made the most money. Raimi states "I love Spider-Man and I love working with Kirsten, Tobey, James Franco... I just have to make sure that when I'm done with Spider-Man 3, I'm really still fascinated with the character. At this moment I'm fascinated with him."
Furthermore, Raimi does state that he could not picture a fourth film without Maguire being on board which again is more of a reason for Columbia to add another zero to the end of his already ridiculously high paycheck. So who knows right now, Will Spiderman 3 be the end of Spiderman or will the Hollywood fat suits give up the green to make sure a Spiderman 4 happens. I guess only time will tell.
