Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest strikes Gold on DVD

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest as most already know was the biggest film of the year so far and I doubt anything coming out will knock it down from being the most profitable film of the year. The DVD sales for Dead Man’s Chest are so good that it might make the film become the best selling DVD of the week. Disney has reported that the film has sold over 10.5 million copies in its first week on DVD. The original film sold about 11 million during its first week on DVD. Right now the only film that Pirates has to beat out is The Chronicles of Narnia which has sold about 14 million copies since it was released back in April. Pirates came out just in time for Christmas so I think it will easily beat Narnia for the top selling DVD of the year. The film is also to have made 12.9 million in rental fees during its first week as well.
