Rachel McAdams goes time traveling

Personally I never been much of a fan of Rachel McAdams even though both men and woman alike seem to love her since the Notebook hit theaters way back in 2004.
Well since then McAdams has starred in several movies including Red Eye and the overrated Wedding Crashers. But now it seem that Rachel McAdams is set to appear in a new film called The Time Traveler’s Wife. The movie which is a romantic thriller is based on the bestselling novel by Audrey Niffenegger.
The general plot of the film focuses on a man with a time traveling gene that inexpertly takes him backwards and forward through time. McAdams comes in when the man on one of these trips falls in love with McAdams character but finds that the time travel is making it difficult for him to have a relationship with her.
To me this sounds pretty lame and I am sure the old motto will hold true with this film. The motto I am referring to is the book is better than the movie. there is already plenty of bad press following this film since it has been in hiatus for the past year and a half. It is also rumored that director Gus Van Saint was going to direct the film however he no long has any interest in the project. New Line Cinema is currently trying to get either director Stephen Frears ( Dirty Pretty Things) or Robert Schweitzer (FlightPlan) to direct the film. If I was going to take a guess of which one will do the project my money is on Schweitzer over Frears.
