and a point I want to bring up, that yes, this film was suppose to be released back in November 2002, but cause of the sniper incidents this film was pushed to its released date of March 28, 2003.

The cast of the new Diaster flick is top notch, and should be commended, but who wrote this movie should be shot for making such a terrible movie.

Aaron Eckhart (Gwenyth Paltrows love interest in Possession) leads a good cast, which includes Stanley Tucci, Hilary Swank, Bruce Greenwood, and Delroy Lindo just to mention a few, and director Jon Amiel (of the much hyped Singing Detective with Robert Downey Jr.) adds DJ Qualls (Road Trip, and The New Guy) to the mix, and to much of my surprise he is the best actor in the movie.

The plot of the movie focuses around a group of seven professionals brought together by the government to try and save the earth from an impending natural diasaster.

Leading the expedition is Dr. Josh Keyes (Eckhart), trying to look more like an action hero than doc, Major Becky Childs (Swank), the Core's "obligated female" and Keyes love interest, both of who must dig into the earth's core to stop impending world disaster.

They are given their own space shuttle and everything, and the lesser known actors in this movie tend to die first (small spoiler, big surprise there).

The Core is a lower budger Armageddon, thus minus Ben Affleck, Bruce Willis, and Liv Tyler. I was waiting for Aerosmith to do films soundtrack, but unfortunately i heard neither.

The Core is a major waste of talent and your time, and should have been shelved forever or until it hits DVD.

The Core is rated 12 for language and violence.

The Core hits theatres March 28, 2003.

My rating: a 2.5 out of 10
