Shrek the Broadway Musical

Well I guess I should have seen this coming since Shrek has become one of the biggest animated movies of all time. The film is so big that its sequel actually made money than the original. Not to mention the fact that Shrek 3 and Shrek 4 are already in production.
But that’s not all Shrek fans, it turns out that Shrek is going to be coming a Broadway show. The Shrek play entitled Shrek: The Musical will be the first Broadway show put together by DreamWorks. Jeanine Tesori and David Lindsay-Abaire who be creating the story for the show as well as developing the score. The director of Shrek: The Musical will be Jason Moore who is the man who created the very popular puppet musical Avenue Q. There is no word on who will be cast to play the role nor any word on where they play will open however the play is set to open in 2008.
