Steven Spielberg owns Dreamworks. Dreamworks is going to bring the animated series Tintin to the silver screen. Dreamworks has already made an official commitment that they will be making at least one feature length film featuring the intrepid Belgain boy reporter. There were 24 comic books in the series however at this moment there isn’t any news on which of the 24 books will be adapted for the first film. Herge Studios which is lead by Nick Rodwell who worked with the Tintin creator George Remis in the 1950s. The film will go into pre-production soon and will be released in 2009. Rodwell says that if the first film works and does well, then they will continue to make more sequels. Tintin first appeared in a Belgian children’s newspaper in 1929 and it went on to become a world famous comic book and animated television series.
