Superman Returns with a disappointing opening weekend

I saw Superman Returns over the weekend in Imax 3D. I haven’t had a chance to write my official review for it yet but look for it later in the week. The weird thing about Superman Returns is how little it brought in at the box office. Personally I found the film to be pretty good much better than I thought but the ending sucked. Anyway the film only made 84.2 Million over the past five days which is quite low considering most figured the film to be huge. The budget on Superman Returns was a mind-blowing 260 million. I am not quite sure if the man of steel will in fact make all that money back. Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man’s Chest comes out this weekend and I am sure the box office numbers for Pirates will be way more than the numbers for Superman Returns. I think Superman Returns may in fact be one of this summers most disappointing failures because I don’t think its going to do as well as most box office analysis’s hoped it would.
