Actor Darren McGavin passes

Just yesterday I reported that Don Knotts passed away and now today I am here to report that actor Darren McGavin died on Saturday in Los Angeles but unlike Knotts he died because of natural causes. The actor who was 83 when he passed away was probably best known for his role on the television hit Night Stalker and for playing the father in the Christmas classic A Christmas story. He was a big star in the mid 50’s and actually worked on television more as he grew older. He was up for an Emmy when he played Murphy Brown’s father on the hit TV series. Although McGavin wasn’t a huge star, he was still a much respected member of the Hollywood community and worked hard to get the roles where he got.
