Brit beaten to No1 spot

After the hellish turmoil of the last month, it was sort of to be expected: Britney Spears has been beaten to the number one spot in the album charts.
Flying high, straight in at number one, The Eagles were above the rest with their album Long Road Out of Eden.
It is the older band’s first number one and it comes 33 years after they had their debut hit single with On The Border.
However, there weren’t many tears to be had for Spears. The pop starlet entered the chart at number two with her album Blackout, which comes after her last hits single Gimme More peaked at number three.
Meanwhile, in the singles’ chart Leona Lewis retained her number one spot with single Bleeding Love.
Despite stiff competition from bands such as Take That and Westlife, Leona outsold the top five chart singles by more than five times.
Still, Take That took home a number two position for the second week with their single Rule The World and Westlife had a new entry at number three with single Home.
Looks like it was a good night last Sunday for some of the most famous faces out there...
