Britney Spears and friend Paris Hilton have been named joint Worst Dressed Women of
2006.
Paris and Brits topped the infamous Blackwell list, named after retired designer Richard Blackwell, who dubbed them the worst style offenders of the past year and branded them 'the screamgirls'.
Blackwell, who was a fashion designer for more than 30 years and one of the top Los Angeles designers in the 60s - said: "Paris and Britney are two peas in an overexposed pod. They are both style-free and fashion deprived. The 'screamgirls' have arrived!"
Since her 'come back', Britney has been seen wearing a series of unflattering outfits, or lack thereof.
On numerous occasions she has been snapped inside popular nightclubs after removing items of clothing. Photos have been released of the popstar partying on in a blouse shirt and stockings, and recently a less then demure outfit that consisted only of her bra, a boa and a mini skirt.
Britney's stylist, Britt Bardo - who also works for Jennifer Lopez and Kate Hudson - has distanced herself from the popstar and her new title, insisting she is not to blame for Britney's shocking wardrobe.
Bardo told In Touch Weekly magazine: "Yes, I've done Britney Spears, but don't blame me OK?! I try to make her up and she just takes everything off and does her own thing."
